Meet our Team
Luminere Systems draws from strong connections between research, industry, and academia. We have several laboratories headquartered across Sydney, NSW, Australia.
Co-Founders
Helen Zeng
Helen is a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney, studying nanophotonics with a keen interest for quantum technologies. Her expertise resides in the theory and experimentation of quantum solid-state materials, with a focus on 2D materials and their utilisation of quantum applications.
Dr. Minh Nguyen
Minh completed his PhD in quantum nanophotonics at the University of Technology Sydney, specialising in the engineering and development of solid-state quantum sources with nanophotonic architecture for their employment in various quantum applications such as quantum key distribution.
Dr. Adam Bennett
Adam completed a PhD in optical quantum information science and communications. Adam holds post as a Research Officer within the Diamond Laser Group at Macquarie University, and has commercial and academic experience in optical engineering, laser design, and prototype-system design and manufacture.
Dr. Ali Al-Juboori
Ali completed his PhD in physics at the University of New South Wales, specialising in porous silicon and meta materials. Ali’s expertise now lies in quantum technology, with his most recent project involving working on a national quantum key distribution system.
Senior Advisors
Prof. Igor Aharonovich
Igor has over a decade of research experience, completing his PhD in quantum nanophotonics at the University of Melbourne, followed by a Postdoctoral research position at Harvard University. Pioneering his field of quantum 2D materials in hexagonal boron nitride, he leads a highly motivated research group at the University of Technology Sydney and is a chief investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Transformative Meta-Optical Systems.
Prof. Milos Toth
Milos has experience which spans both industry and academia, having completed his PhD at the University of Technology Sydney, a Postdoctoral researcher at Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge, and as a research scientist at FEI in the US. Returning to UTS, Milos runs a research group specialising in nanofabrication and is also a chief investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Transformative Meta-Optical Systems.
